Maca Root Recipes

What is Maca Root?
Maca root is an adaptogen from the Peruvian Andes, traditionally used as a nourishing food and valued for its potential to support energy, stamina, mood and hormonal wellbeing.
With raw maca powder, we recommend taking it in warm foods or drinks. Heat and moisture can gelatinise maca's starches, potentially making it easier to digest. While this doesn't prove that simply heating raw maca increases absorption, it provides a practical reason to enjoy it warm.
How Much Maca Should You Take?
If you're new to maca, start with a smaller amount to get used to the taste, then gradually increase to 2 teaspoons daily, incorporated into warm drinks.
What Does Maca Taste Like?
Maca is naturally nutty, malty, and slightly earthy, so it pairs well with some drinks more than other. We recommend:
Chocolate and cacao
Cinnamon
Matcha latte (our favourite!)
Vanilla
Banana
Nut butter
Dates
Maple syrup
Warming spices
These flavours make maca much more enjoyable, especially when served warm.
